The overall objective of the project is to enable the full implementation of the European acquis in science-related areas, following a comprehensive agreement.

The purpose is to develop analytical services in the Turkish Cypriot community at the level where they can be entrusted with the analysis of foodstuffs and other products in line with the requirements of the European acquis in key areas, but with priority given to food safety.

To this end, the following results were achieved.

Evaluation of the status of the analytical equipment financed by the EU and delivered under the 2009 contracts, providing an overview of lessons learned

Preparation of technical specifications for equipment and/or high priority supplies still required for procurement through a separate supply contract

Training of laboratory staff in metrology and quality assurance concepts for analytical laboratories to support the EU acquis

Training of laboratory staff in the application of laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

Laboratories are able to implement routine and reference methods for selected priority applications. Quality control documentation was completed
