The project, funded by the Framework Contract SIEA 2018-Lot 2, has as objective to perform a systematic and timely evaluation of the activities carried out by the CBTPSD paying particular attention to the assessment of achievements, the quality of results of interventions and potential lessons learnt and recommendations for future programming actions of the Contracting Authority.
In order to do so, the evaluation team will review and assess the three main areas in which the CBTPSD was structured:
- Trade Information System which was aimed to enhance the capacity of relevant government departments to generate, process and package trade related information, statistics and systems for policy making, monitor trade performance and improve the capacity of the key agencies to provide timely and up-to-date intelligence of the private sector.
- SQAM (Standardisation, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Metrology) Infrastructure Development aimed at strengthening the SQAM infrastructure in Malawi, thereby facilitating the growth of non-traditional exports and consumer protection.
- Mining Sector Development, which has the specific objective of enhancing the capacity of core government departments mandated to regulate and oversee the development of the mineral sector.
